Adding onto the session given by Charlotte Moon-West. We found that the best way for employees to be more productive at work is for you to do the following:
Have Clear Communication
Improve your workplace conditions
Allow for your employees to have flexible schedules
Set Clear goals
Encourage Self-care
1. Having Clear Communication
The first thing you have to do to enable your employees’ productivity at work. It is to have clear communication within a workplace. This includes making sure the employee’s training is up to date. It then gives them the confidence to be able to complete the tasks you have given them. Then to execute them to a high standard.
You should also give them feedback on how they did after they finish the tasks you’ve assigned them with. This will enable the employee to do better next time. This means that he or she will be able to produce better results and therefore become more productive at work.
2. Improve your workplace conditions
Research suggests that exposure to natural light has a positive effect on our moods and improve productivity at work. Meaning offices should be designed with this in mind. If you can, position your furniture so that it faces windows or glass doors. Perhaps, even better, create a room with natural light from all sides.
The use of soft colors in the office such as blue, green, and white. Light-colored walls promote creativity while decreasing aggression.
According to Charlotte Moon- West having a workspace that includes a ‘Propeller office’ which is Unispaces methodology is very important as it can help to promote focus, collaboration, innovation, and problem-solving. There are many different types of spaces and layouts that work well in an office space. But they all have something in common; they are fun and inspire productivity.
Focus
Focus: If you want to Improve productivity at work. You need to provide a working environment that offers zero distractions. This is why it’s important to make sure your employees have a private area. This allows them to work where they can without having any interruptions.
Collaboration
Collaboration: Encouraging employees to collaborate is an effective way of making them more productive at work. When you encourage collaboration, it means that the employees will be able to share their ideas. This will help them come up with better ideas for the company. It also allows them to have a sense of community and allows them to problem-solve together.
Socializing
Socializing: Your office also needs a social area where employees can have some fun during their lunch breaks or after work. The social areas should include comfortable furniture such as couches, armchairs, or bean bags.
Learn
Learn: A learning area helps your employees learn new things by providing them with books, online resources, and other materials that would help them advance in their career field. According to Charlotte Moon- West there will be “20-30% less space in the workplace but 20-30% better space via engineered environments and agile technology to empower your people and propel your business”.
